Hakim+ Pharmacy respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Hakim+ mobile application and related services collect, use, store, protect, and share information when you use our services.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Hakim+, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: your name, phone number, account credentials, and authentication or session information.
• Delivery information: delivery address and location information that you choose to provide during checkout.
• Order information: products you order, cart contents, order history, delivery status, product requests, favourites, and related transaction records.
• Prescription and health-related information:prescription photographs and information necessary for pharmacists to review and fulfil prescription-related requests.
• Device and notification information: device or notification tokens required to send service notifications.
• Support information: information you provide when contacting Hakim+ for customer support.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Create, authenticate, and manage your account.
• Process, review, fulfil, and support pharmacy orders.
• Allow authorised pharmacy staff to review prescriptions.
• Arrange and confirm delivery.
• Display your order history and account information.
• Send order, delivery, security, and service notifications.
• Respond to customer support requests.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
• Maintain records where required for pharmacy operations, accounting, transactions, or applicable legal obligations.
• Maintain and improve the reliability and security of our services.

Hakim+ does not sell personal information or prescription information.

3. Location information

Hakim+ may request access to your device location during checkout to help determine or confirm your delivery location. Location is requested only when you use the relevant delivery feature and is not collected continuously in the background.

If you choose not to provide device location, you may provide your delivery address manually where this option is available.

4. Camera, photos, and prescription images

Hakim+ may request access to your camera or photos when you choose to upload or capture a prescription. This access is used only for the prescription upload feature.

Prescription images may contain sensitive health information. Prescription information is used for pharmacy review, order fulfilment, customer support, and applicable pharmacy record-keeping purposes. Access is restricted to authorised personnel who require it to provide the service.

5. Service providers and sharing of information

Hakim+ uses third-party technology providers to operate the service. Information may be processed by these providers only as necessary to provide their services to Hakim+.

• Vercel: application and website hosting.
• Neon: database infrastructure.
• Vercel Blob: storage of uploaded files such as prescription images, where applicable.
• Firebase: device notifications and related notification services.
• Afromessage: delivery and verification of security codes for password recovery and account deletion. Your phone number and the verification message are processed for this purpose. Prescription photographs and order contents are not included in these security messages.

On supported Android devices, Google Play services can retrieve the Hakim+ verification message automatically. Hakim+ does not request permission to read your SMS inbox. You can also type or paste the code. When you choose to call a pharmacist, the app may request permission to place the call; if this is unavailable, it opens your phone dialer.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or lawful government request, or when necessary to protect users, Hakim+, or the security of our services.

6. Data security

Hakim+ uses administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal and sensitive information. These include encrypted network connections, restricted staff access, secure authentication practices, and access controls appropriate to the service.

No electronic storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service or to meet legitimate pharmacy, fraud-prevention, accounting, transaction, security, or legal requirements.

Information that is no longer required is deleted or de-identified according to our operational and legal requirements.

8. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your Hakim+ account, via the app by clicking on account then delete account, or contacting us at +251971818802. More information can be found at: https://hakim-plus-pharmacy-admin.vercel.app/account-deletion

When an account deletion request is completed, personal information associated with the account is deleted unless specific information must be retained for legitimate pharmacy, transaction, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or legal obligations. Any retained information is limited to what is necessary for that purpose.

9. Your choices

You may:

• Update or correct account information where available in the app.
• Choose whether to provide device location.
• Choose whether to provide camera or photo access for prescription uploads.
• Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
• Delete your Hakim+ account.

10. Children's privacy

Hakim+ is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children except where information is provided by a parent, guardian, or authorised person for legitimate pharmacy or healthcare purposes.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
